Staff Software Engineer, Chasis

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company focused on building the Waymo Driver, a fully autonomous ride-hail service and vehicle platform. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips and driven over 100 million miles on public roads across 15+ U.S. states.

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of backend or infrastructure experience

Nice to have:

• Experience with C++ or willingness to engage in professional development to stay current
• Experience working with nontechnical team members
• Experience with operations tooling, developer productivity, or developer tools

• Help build and evolve mission-critical horizontal infrastructure and tooling underpinning all commercialization systems
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop systems and processes as business needs grow and evolve
• Scale systems to meet demands of commercial expansion and growing complexity
• Solve real-world problems such as world simulation for regression testing and evaluation of software services managing autonomous vehicle fleets
