Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d)

Awin is part of the Axel Springer group. The role is within Team Argonauts in the Advertiser Tribe, part of the Growth Domain, focused on building features for a new Affiliate Marketing platform.

• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in commercial Software Engineering roles.
• Good experience with front-end code, ideally using Angular.
• Extensive experience developing cloud software using AWS services (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, Opensearch), Terraform, Typescript, Java v21 with Maven and Spring Boot v3, and Docker.
• Understanding of relational database design, SQL query optimization, and proficiency in SQL and non-relational databases like DynamoDB.
• Experience and enthusiasm for using AI tools to augment software development.
• Experience using Git for source control.
• Passion for writing elegant code and understanding of SOLID principles.
• Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
• Ability to conduct thorough code reviews, write unit tests, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Interest in agile processes such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience in monitoring applications, preferably using Cloudwatch and Datadog.
• Knowledgeable about information security and able to design and implement mitigation against security threats.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of TDD and Pair Programming practices.
• Experience working with PHP and building/maintaining web applications.
• Experience with cache solutions such as Redis or Memcached.
• Experience with streaming and queuing solutions like Kafka, Kinesis, or SQS.

• Write clean, secure, and well-tested code following best practices.
• Extend, maintain, and operate assigned parts of the platform.
• Coach and mentor junior colleagues.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing activities within the team and wider engineering practice.
• Collaborate with product managers and team members to translate user needs into technical solutions.
• Work through the entire service lifecycle from requirements to deployment and maintenance.
• Identify pragmatic solutions and proactively raise potential risks.
• Help solve challenges as the business grows to ensure the service meets business and customer needs.
