IT Operations Specialist

QED is a tech company focused on public health and food security in Sub-Saharan Africa. They build digital infrastructure and AI for aid and scientific inquiry, including surveillance of HIV and malaria, and nutrient analysis of crops and soils. Their work operates at a national scale with funding from partners like the Gates Foundation, CDC, and USAID.

• High level of trust and absolute integrity due to access to sensitive operational layers.
• At least 4 years of industry experience in IT administration with a proactive and opinionated approach.
• Proficiency in core technologies including Git for version control, scripting, and networking fundamentals.
• Comfort managing Windows, Linux, and Android device fleets.
• Working proficiency in English at C1 level or higher.

Bonus: Technical expertise in server infrastructure including installation, cabling, and configuration of server racks, and willingness to travel to African offices for hardware deployments.

• Global procurement and logistics: Sourcing, configuring, and distributing laptops (Windows/Linux) and mobile devices for staff in Poland and African offices.
• Inventory management: Tracking all QED equipment, its condition, and handling breakages.
• Security enforcement: Auditing and enforcing personal computer security policies including full disk encryption and secret handling.
• Access control: Managing onboarding, offboarding, and access to internal platforms.
• Android MDM: Managing a custom Mobile Device Management service built on the Android Management API, including procurement and logistics of devices used in public health projects. Ability to maintain the MDM platform code is a bonus.
