[Super Group] Lead DevOps Engineer

Super Group is a New York Stock Exchange-listed digital gaming company, operating across 17 countries with more than 3,200 people. It owns leading Sports and iGaming brands, including Betway, and is focused on modernising its platform infrastructure.

• Deep, hands-on experience designing and owning CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes on-premise and managed cloud services like Azure AKS.
• Experience with containers and infrastructure-as-code tools including Docker, Helm, Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep.
• Solid knowledge of Azure cloud including networking, AKS, identity, and cost-aware architecture.
• Comfortable working across Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, in-memory caches, event streaming, and data architectural best practices.
• Networking fundamentals including load balancing, TLS termination/offload, firewalls, and network segmentation.
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or equivalents.
• Ability to lead with technical authority, influence platform standards, and communicate pragmatic solutions at scale.

Nice to have:

• CKA / CKAD or equivalent Kubernetes certification.
• Experience containerising legacy web and application workloads.
• Familiarity with enterprise virtualization platforms.
• Experience in regulated, high-availability, or high-throughput environments such as gaming, fintech, or payments.
• Knowledge of service mesh, GitOps tools like ArgoCD/Flux, and policy-as-code.

Own CI/CD and platform standards:

• Design, build and own central CI/CD pipelines delivering consistent, governed, self-service delivery.
• Standardise build, test, release and rollback patterns including blue-green and canary deployments.
• Codify infrastructure and configuration as code with automated quality, security, and compliance gates.
• Establish observability, monitoring, and alerting as integral parts of the platform.

Build and run Kubernetes — on-prem and Azure:

• Lead design and build-out of Kubernetes infrastructure on-premise and potentially migrate workloads to Azure AKS.
• Containerise existing workloads onto a modern automated container platform.
• Apply architecture patterns at scale including data placement, cache, config services, and TLS offloading.
• Choose virtualization and infrastructure methods for performance and efficiency.
• Deliver automatic horizontal scaling aligned with demand.
• Validate implementations via lab, PoC, limited production, and migration stages.

Lead, align and enable:

• Serve as platform owner and technical authority for DevOps practice.
• Partner with development, data, and infrastructure teams to align toolchains and reduce deployment toil.
• Mentor engineers and raise automation maturity.
• Influence platform decisions on streaming, caching, data tiering, and build-versus-buy choices.
