[Opendoor] Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Opendoor started as a real estate company and realized it had actually built a technology company. The company is focused on making buying or selling a home painless by leveraging technology, working with a deliberately small R&D team. The role is based in Krakow, Poland.

• Deep software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems
• Strong fundamentals in at least one general-purpose language and ability to learn new ones
• Experience with relational databases and reasoning about performance at scale
• Ability to choose between simple and novel solutions appropriately
• Strong opinions on architecture and distributed systems based on experience
• Language-agnostic with deep expertise beyond specific stacks
• Daily integration of modern AI tools into workflow
• Good communication skills including clear design docs and constructive code reviews
• Conviction in the company's mission and goals
• Ability to maintain a positive and cooperative work attitude

• Build production systems that real customers and real money depend on
• Own features end-to-end, from design through deployment and beyond
• Lead and participate in technical design reviews
• Use AI tools daily and innovate their use beyond the industry
• Review code, mentor teammates, and raise the bar on everything
• Bridge the gap between infrastructure and product
