Security Engineer, Threat Response

The security team at Asana proactively addresses threats to protect employees, users, and customers and fosters a culture of security throughout the product and operations. This role is located in the Warsaw office within a key engineering hub.

• 5+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, or threat detection.
• Strong experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Panther, Splunk, Elastic Security) for log analysis and alert correlation.
• Deep knowledge of endpoint detection and response tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
• Proven experience developing and implementing security automation using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) or orchestration tools.
• Experience in security incident investigations and forensic analysis.
• Familiarity with attack techniques and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical collaboration.
• Interest in AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making.

• Lead security incident detection, analysis, and response efforts.
• Utilize and optimize security tools such as Panther for SIEM and CrowdStrike for endpoint detection and response.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security playbooks and automation scripts.
• Monitor security alerts and threat intelligence feeds to identify emerging threats.
• Conduct forensic analysis during security incidents.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices into development processes.
• Develop and deliver training on security operations and incident response.
