Senior Embedded Engineer

Matrix Eastern Europe is the offshore division of Matrix IT, a global R&D services company with over 10,000 professionals. The client is a global technology leader in IoT-based platforms for security, healthcare, and senior care markets, with more than 80 million devices deployed worldwide. Their products include smart home security, health monitoring, and emergency care devices developed and manufactured entirely in-house, from device to cloud.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field from a leading institute.
• At least 5 years of experience in real-time embedded programming.
• Strong proficiency in C and modern C++ (C++14 and higher).
• Experience with FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux (Yocto), and other embedded OS (Bare Metal).
• Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks (Claude code, Copilot, Codex), including autonomous systems and context-aware agents.
• Ability to integrate AI capabilities into software development processes, including design, coding, and problem-solving.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to leverage AI-driven insights to enhance development efficiency and product quality.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles.
• Proficiency in Linux development and shell scripting.
• Understanding of multi-process and multi-threading design concepts.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols such as MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, and TLS.
• Hands-on experience with wireless communication technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, and Zigbee.
• Experience with ESP32 chips family, especially ESP32-P4.
• Experience with cellular modems, including TELIT HE910 or similar modules.
• Experience with Git for source control and version management.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience using Python for testing, automation, and scripting.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for smart home security systems, including central hubs and peripherals.
• Work extensively with FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux (Yocto), and bare-metal embedded operating systems to optimize system performance.
• Implement and manage multi-process designs and networking protocols (e.g., MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS) for system communication.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and MySQL databases for system management and data analysis.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure system stability and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure product integration.
• Write design documents and report progress, coordinating with hardware teams.
