Cobol Software Engineer

Scalo delivers software projects supporting partners in business development across domains including software development, embedded systems, cloud solutions, data management, and dedicated project teams. This role involves participation in financial sector projects, working with technologies like Cobol, CI/CD, Java, CICS, zOS, JCL, Git, and Cloud in an international environment.

• Minimum 3 years of development experience in Cobol technology
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Experience working in Agile methodologies such as Scrum and SAFe, with knowledge of Waterfall projects
• Experience with CICS, zOS, JCL technologies
• Knowledge of best practices including BDD, TDD, and CI/CD
• English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level for spoken and written communication

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Java

• Developing new functionalities in a financial software project using Cobol and related technologies
• Integrating code in a complex IT environment
• Delivering code, scripts, and unit tests compliant with acceptance criteria and Definition of Done
• Integrating external providers' software with the IT ecosystem
• Managing production and non-production environments
• Ensuring application operability including monitoring and alerting
• Updating processes and documentation according to changes

The position requires work in a hybrid mode with 3 days a week onsite in Warsaw.
