Distributed Systems Engineer 5 - Data Platform Poland

Netflix provides centralized data platforms and tools to enable data-driven decisions across multiple business functions. The Data Platform teams focus on building world-class data infrastructure to support Netflix's global internet entertainment vision. The role expands Netflix's Data Platform presence to Poland with teams managing critical infrastructure products like ZooKeeper, experiment data systems, and data movement connectors across the organization.

• 7 or more years of experience designing and building complex, scalable distributed data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or Scala, with strong understanding of multi-threading and memory management.
• Experience with the Spark platform is valuable.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining impactful distributed systems.
• Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Educational or professional background in computer science, engineering, or related fields.

Nice to have:

• Front-end engineering skills.

• Take end-to-end ownership of internal data platform products, including ZooKeeper.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and evolution of data platform infrastructure.
• Build and maintain data systems for A/B testing and experimentation.
• Develop self-service tooling and support AI-driven monitoring and analysis workflows.
• Build and own connectors for moving and integrating data across business domains.
• Develop automated systems integration test frameworks for batch and streaming connectors.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with engineers, product managers, and technical managers.
• Share experiences with open source communities and contribute to Netflix OSS.
