AVP - Financial Accounting Operations HBUK

Our client is a global financial services organisation with a significant operational presence in Krakow. Their Finance Operations team provides critical financial support services across the group, managing finances, deploying capital effectively, and ensuring compliance with international reporting standards. The Financial Accounting team supports period end close, accounting controls, balance sheet substantiation, and reporting within IFRS, FINREP, GSIB, and CE frameworks.

• In-depth understanding of IFRS and its aspects
• Hands-on knowledge of FTP and Saracen systems
• Strong understanding of financial reporting frameworks: IFRS, FINREP, GSIB, and CE
• Proficient in Excel with advanced capability to analyse and interpret numeric data
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to provide strategic direction and manage business partner relationships
• Strong analytical review skills with ability to add value through business understanding
• Experience maintaining documentation per RCA and SOX requirements
• Understanding of Group policies (FIM/DIM), audit, controls and compliance requirements
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships at senior levels
• Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Regulated Covered Bonds products (highly advantageous)
• Understanding of synthetic securitisation accounting processes (beneficial)
• Experience in statutory accounting and liaising with auditors (beneficial)
• Knowledge of automation tools such as Python or Xceptor (beneficial)
• Experience with workflow solutions such as Appian (beneficial)
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Qlik Sense (beneficial)

• Lead the end-to-end period end close process across multiple reporting frameworks
• Manage Saracen reporting and balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation activities
• Supervise and develop team members to ensure consistent high-quality delivery
• Drive strategic and tactical transformation initiatives within Financial Accounting Operations
• Manage relationships with business partners and in-country Finance teams
• Conduct analytical reviews to add value through business understanding and lateral thinking
• Pre-empt issues and flag concerns to business partners in a timely manner
• Ensure 100% review of all deliverables with meticulous attention to detail
• Maintain documentation per RCA and SOX requirements
• Ensure SOPs are updated and tested by backup resources regularly
• Monitor adherence to Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance standards
• Ensure business continuity planning and testing for uninterrupted service delivery
• Liaise with senior managers and stakeholders to understand and deliver satisfactory service
• Respond proactively to new requirements, ad-hoc requests and unusual variances
