Senior AI/ML Backend Engineer – LLM and RAG Technologies

The client is a leader in financial technology specializing in innovative credit and lending use cases. The role is based in Kraków with a hybrid work model.

• At least 3 years experience in AI/ML backend development focusing on NLP and large language models.
• Strong proficiency in Python (3+ years) and Java; experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, LangChain, and Spring.
• Experience with databases including PostgreSQL, Vector Databases, and Redis.
• Practical knowledge of microservices architecture, APIs, observability, concurrency, and containerization using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience deploying models on cloud platforms like Azure or GCP, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with TDD, BDD, and software development best practices.
• Expertise in prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic AI architectures within financial contexts.
• Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and NLP.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience in the credit and lending industry.
• Familiarity with financial data privacy and regulatory considerations.

• Design, test, and optimize prompts for LLMs for credit and lending applications.
• Develop and implement solutions using RAG, vector databases, and cloud technologies.
• Participate in all phases of solution development from discovery to deployment and maintenance.
• Apply AI best practices to ensure fairness, transparency, and ethical responsibility.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business experts.
• Write, review, and maintain scalable, testable code in Python, Java, and related frameworks.
• Utilize cloud platforms like Azure and GCP for development, deployment, and scaling.
• Co-author architecture design documents and oversee production-grade solutions.
