Distributed Systems Engineer 5 - Data Platform Poland

Netflix provides centralized data platforms and tools for various business functions, enabling teams to utilize data to make critical, data-driven decisions. The company focuses on creating efficient, secure, and responsible data infrastructure, aiming to be the industry standard and support Netflix’s vision as a leading global internet entertainment destination. The Data Platform is expanding in Poland to increase impact, with teams responsible for internal data platform products like ZooKeeper and experimentation platform infrastructure supporting A/B testing and AI-driven monitoring workflows.

• 7 or more years of experience designing and building complex, scalable distributed data infrastructure
• Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or Scala with solid understanding of multi-threading and memory management
• Experience with the Spark platform is valuable
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining impactful systems
• Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Educational or professional background in computer science, engineering, or related field

Nice to have:

• Front-end engineering skills involving React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js

• Design and build robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure
• Solve business needs at scale using software engineering and analytical problem-solving skills
• Lead cross-functional initiatives collaborating with engineers, product managers, and technical program managers
• Share experiences and contribute to open source communities including Netflix OSS
