Lead Machine Learning Engineer (Robotics & Computer Vision)

This position is with an early-stage startup supported by Red Sky startup studio and capital group. The company is building a cutting-edge robotics automation platform and offers a key technical role in the founding team with influence over AI/ML direction. The cooperation concerns a newly established startup.

• 3+ years of end-to-end Deep Learning experience from data processing and architecture design to training models from scratch and deep fine-tuning (no API prompting)
• Advanced proficiency with modern deep learning frameworks, especially PyTorch, including writing custom data loaders and loss functions
• Computer Vision expertise including experience with CNNs, ViTs, object detection, and segmentation
• Proven software engineering skills with experience building and shipping ML components in production-ready products
• Pragmatic and analytical mindset comfortable in fast-paced, high uncertainty startup environments
• Fluent in Polish and English (spoken and written)

Nice to have:

• Experience with hardware control/integration of AI models in robotics, embedded systems, or IoT
• Experience with robotics technologies like ROS/ROS2, simulation environments, control systems
• Experience in robotics automation platforms, cloud-edge architecture, or industrial automation
• Background in deep-tech, robotics, or engineering-driven startups
• Prior leadership experience (Lead Engineer, Tech Lead)

• Own the AI/ML core of the product, aligning with overall technical strategy
• Write custom training loops and design neural network architectures (e.g., in PyTorch)
• Manage end-to-end AI/ML model lifecycle from raw data processing to edge deployment
• Build AI/ML components of the MVP, including training, fine-tuning, and hardware control interfaces
• Propose and help define the AI/ML stack and model architecture
• Monitor AI, computer vision, and robotics trends
• Mentor engineers joining the AI/ML function
• Translate customer feedback and market needs into AI/ML technical requirements
• Contribute to a culture focused on code quality, ownership, rapid iteration, and high execution standards

Candidates must have legal permission to work in the EU and fluency in English (C1).
