(Senior) Data Scientist - Operations (m/f/n)

InPost is a leading e-commerce parcel delivery platform in Europe operating almost 47,000 Automated Parcel Machines (APMs) and 35,000 pick-up drop-off points (PUDO) across nine countries. The company provides delivery, courier, and fulfilment services with a focus on convenient, environmentally friendly, and contactless options. The role is within the Operations Data Science Team, tackling complex logistics problems impacting millions of parcel deliveries daily. The tech stack includes Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch / TensorFlow), PySpark, distributed processing, cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS), Databricks, and SQL/data warehouses.

• Approximately 3+ years in Data Science / Machine Learning roles
• Strong Python skills and experience with data and ML libraries
• Experience working with large-scale datasets
• Solid understanding of ML methods including regression, clustering, and forecasting
• Ability to translate business problems into data solutions

Nice to have:

• Experience with optimization problems such as routing, scheduling, and operations research
• Knowledge of graph-based approaches or network problems
• Experience building models used in production at scale
• Experience with PySpark, cloud platforms (Databricks, GCP, AWS, Snowflake)
• Experience with ML Ops and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with optimization techniques like linear programming and heuristics
• Familiarity with Kedro or similar frameworks

• Design routing and allocation algorithms for parcel delivery
• Solve large-scale optimization problems involving vehicles, routes, constraints, and costs
• Apply graph-based methods, clustering, regression, and forecasting
• Build models that directly impact delivery speed, cost efficiency, and customer experience
• Ship solutions into production, not just experiments
