Platform Infrastructure Engineer

Snowflake operates a globally deployed infrastructure that spans multiple cloud providers and manages hundreds of thousands of VMs to support over 3.9 billion queries and 515 million data workloads daily. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering teams focus on simplifying large-scale infrastructure, improving reliability, enabling global multi-cloud service operation, managing significant infrastructure changes, maintaining high SLO standards, and defining OS and containerization layers for Snowflake's services.

• BS/CS, MS/CS, or equivalent degree
• Minimum 2 years experience in platform or cloud teams supporting mission-critical services in a SaaS environment
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and coding skills
• At least 1 year experience in cloud computing with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Fluent in at least one programming language: Golang, Java, Python, C
• Expertise in one or more of: container platforms, automation, networking, operating systems, site reliability, config management, infrastructure as code (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to build reliable and scalable software systems
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Strong work ethic, self-management, and passion for problem-solving

• Build a deep understanding of Snowflake’s infrastructure and services
• Contribute infrastructure and software engineering expertise to build and operate scalable, resilient, and performant infrastructure
• Provide technical leadership on large and complex cloud infrastructure, platforms, tools, and automation projects
• Evangelize and drive adoption of the platform to meet business goals
• Mentor and support junior team members, leading by example with code quality, documentation, and best practices
