Senior Test Engineer

HSBC Technology Poland is part of HSBC, one of the largest banking and financial services organisations operating in 64 countries and territories. The team supports private banking services using the Avaloq platform, an end-to-end wealth management and banking platform, integrating client management, investment, trading, payments, compliance, and back-office operations. The role involves working with stakeholders, architects, vendors, and control functions to deliver and improve Avaloq-based solutions.

• Strong testing background, including test automation using TestMaster.
• Solid understanding of the Private Banking domain.
• Experience working on the Avaloq platform with technical capability in Avaloq scripting, DDIC, and knowledge of Avaloq reporting/interfaces.
• Proven debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to design and develop IT solutions in line with agreed designs and customer needs with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Accountability for unit and integration test coverage, collaborating with Test Engineers.
• Strong leadership skills and confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Ability to define and document solutions and changes using structured analysis techniques.
• Experience across one or more functional domains and adaptability to new business areas.

• Build test automation capability for the GPB Core Banking Platform (Avaloq).
• Lead the design and development of an Avaloq Test Suite with high automation coverage, optimising and extending it.
• Keep automation levels optimised to minimise manual intervention across testing and operational lifecycles, including selecting tools to maximise performance.
• Ensure products and services meet all mandatory and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Maintain group controls within pod activities and resolve remediation activities swiftly.
• Accountable for platform operational stability, integrity, and availability.
• Functionally manage the team to ensure the automation suite meets customer needs.
