Avaloq Software Engineer

HSBC Technology Poland is a global banking and financial services organisation operating in 64 countries and territories. Their private banking business uses Avaloq, a leading end-to-end wealth management and banking platform supporting client management, investments, trading, lending, payments, risk, compliance, and back-office operations.

• Strong Avaloq development background.
• Strong understanding of Private Banking Domain, Investment Banking, or Capital Markets.
• Hands-on experience with Avaloq or comparable core banking/investment banking platforms.
• Strong scripting capability, including PL/SQL.
• Ability to understand user requirements and provide solutions using Avaloq parameterization, along with Unix and shell scripts, Control-M.
• Strong analysis, solution design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience across the delivery lifecycle: development, testing, handling change requests, and supporting release execution.
• Comfortable working in Agile and DevOps ways of working.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including stakeholder-facing presentations.
• A proactive growth mindset for learning new tools and technologies and adapting quickly to change.

• Own a product or service end-to-end, shaping and delivering the right IT solutions across the customer journey.
• Ensure products and services remain compliant with mandatory standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain group controls within pod activities and resolve remediation activities swiftly.
• Be accountable for operational stability, integrity, and availability of supported products and services.
• Drive pod performance maintaining productivity, quality, and effectiveness measures.
• Partner with the Solution Architect to ensure solutions and services align with proper architectures and systems.
• Develop appropriate IT solutions following solution designs and ensure continuous improvement.
• Write unit and integration tests performed by Test Engineers.
• Determine technical and business suitability of proposed requirements with architects and developers and provide recommendations.
• Define and document solutions and changes using structured analysis techniques and methodologies.
• Validate proposed solutions with business representatives and technical teams to ensure clear understanding of solutions and restrictions.
