IT Business Analyst

HSBC is a global banking and financial services organisation operating in 64 countries and territories. Their Private Banking business uses Avaloq, a wealth management and banking platform covering client management, investments, trading, lending, payments, risk, compliance, and back-office operations. The role supports Avaloq change and delivery across HSBC locations and system landscapes connecting business stakeholders with product owners, developers, testers, architects, vendors, and control functions.

• Experience engaging stakeholders to understand business goals, processes, controls, users and expected outcomes.
• Ability to analyse requirements and translate them into clear Avaloq functional and technical specifications.
• Skill in documenting current and future processes, business rules, data flows, interfaces, dependencies and operational impacts.
• Capability to identify gaps between business needs and Avaloq functionality, recommending solutions aligned with product standards and HSBC controls.
• Experience assessing impact of changes across Avaloq modules, configuration, customisation, integrations, data, reporting and support processes.
• Competence to work with architects, developers, testers and vendors to define solution designs, interfaces, data mappings and non-functional requirements.
• Defining acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and expected results for various test types including user acceptance testing.
• Ability to analyse defects and production issues and support root-cause analysis.
• Supporting estimation and prioritisation by identifying scope, dependencies, risks and delivery effort.
