Avaloq Engineering Lead

HSBC Technology Poland is a global banking and financial services organisation operating in 64 countries and territories. Their private banking business uses Avaloq, a leading end-to-end wealth management and banking platform supporting client management, investments, trading, lending, payments, risk, compliance, and back-office operations.

• Deep expertise across Avaloq, Agile delivery, DevOps practices, and team leadership.
• Strong understanding of the Private Banking domain (finance, trade, client reporting, cash management, risk).
• Hands-on engineering mindset with experience in Avaloq platform implementation, interfaces, EOD, deployment automation.
• Solid capability in scripting languages such as PL/SQL.
• Working knowledge of Unix and Control-M.
• System engineering background with ability to assess options and recommend solutions.
• Demonstrated delivery experience improving business effectiveness aligned to approved work.
• Clear, confident communication in English with ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to build strong internal and external networks and guide stakeholders through complex technical decisions considering long-term risks.

• Lead Avaloq deliveries for stream and oversee end-to-end Avaloq development life cycle including design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure code quality, documentation, and compliance with development standards, best practices, and quality guidelines.
• Work with stakeholders and other technology functions to ensure end-to-end delivery of projects, minor enhancements, and RTB backlog using Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Support recruitment, talent management, retention, risk control, governance, and local administration.
• Partner with Head of Engineering Banking Platform to ensure a robust location strategy for Avaloq workforce and build capability accordingly.
• Identify risks, threats, and deficiencies with deployed key controls, ensuring adherence to risk, control, and governance policies.
• Help drive the automation strategy with the Test Manager.
• Ensure the team matures in Agile practices and collects metrics demonstrating high release frequency, quality standards, and low production incident trends.
