Technical Product Lead - AI Finance

BJAK is a company founded in 2019 that built the first mobile-first insurance platform accessible online to millions in Southeast Asia, now the leading insurance platform in the region. They are expanding into a comprehensive AI Finance Superapp covering payments, remittance, insurance, wealth, and trading, aiming to help people get more from their money every day. The teams include over 20 nationalities working globally, both remotely and in offices.

• 5+ years of product management experience owning complex technical products from strategy through production.
• Strong technical foundation in system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineers, reviewing, challenging, and contributing to technical designs.
• Experience in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or other regulated, high-consequence product domains.
• Strong product judgment with ability to make trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational constraints.
• Experience building with LLMs or AI products, including evaluation, reliability, and knowing when AI should not be used.

Nice to have:

• Engineering or highly technical product background.
• Experience building zero-to-one fintech or consumer products.
• Experience defining evaluation frameworks for ML or LLM-powered products.

• Owning a product vertical end-to-end including strategy, metrics, roadmap, priorities, and delivery.
• Shaping technical design with engineering across APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability.
• Driving trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory requirements, and user experience.
• Building regulatory requirements into the product (KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy, licensing).
• Applying AI with evaluation, safeguards, human oversight, and failure handling.
• Shipping products considering external dependencies including regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party partners.
• Aligning Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance around clear product decisions and launch requirements.

This is a remote role, hiring globally across multiple countries and time zones. Strong English communication is required as English is the main working language across global teams.
