Technical Product Lead - AI Investing

BJAK is a company founded in 2019 that built the first mobile-first insurance platform in Southeast Asia, expanding its offerings to spending, saving, investing, exchanging, travelling, and more financial services. The company has a diverse and global team of over 20 nationalities working both remotely and from offices.

• 5+ years of product management experience with ownership of complex technical products from strategy through production.
• Strong technical foundation in system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineers, capable of reviewing, challenging, and contributing to technical designs.
• Experience in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or other regulated, high-consequence product domains.
• Strong product judgment with ability to make difficult trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational constraints.
• Experience building with LLMs or AI products including evaluation, reliability, and understanding when AI should not be used.

Nice to have:

• Engineering or highly technical product background.
• Experience building zero-to-one fintech or consumer products.
• Experience defining evaluation frameworks for ML or LLM-powered products.

• Own a product vertical end-to-end, including strategy, metrics, roadmap, priorities, and delivery.
• Shape technical design with engineering across APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability.
• Drive trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory requirements, and user experience.
• Build regulatory requirements into the product across KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy, and licensing.
• Apply AI where it improves outcomes, including evaluation, safeguards, human oversight, and failure handling.
• Ship products considering external dependencies like regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party partners.
• Align Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance around clear product decisions and launch requirements.

This is a remote role suitable for global candidates comfortable working in a distributed, fast-moving international team across multiple countries and time zones. Strong English communication skills are required.
