Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Sopra Steria is one of the largest tech companies in Europe, providing consulting, digital services, and software development. Its Polish branch operates as the Global Delivery Center in Katowice since 2007 with around 1,000 specialists. The Digital Platform Services department specializes in cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup, storage, networking, and security. The Application Services department handles software development, data engineering, testing, CRM, ITSM, and ERP integrations for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK.

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering roles.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, including writing complex queries.
• Basic knowledge of data-related AWS services: S3, Glue, Athena.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• English proficiency at B2/C1 level.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and commute to offices in Katowice or Gdańsk.
• EU citizenship.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Bash.
• Ability to draw basic diagrams.
• Higher education.
• Relevant certifications.

• Collaborate with developers and data engineers to manage data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Create workflows and jobs, maintain and debug pipelines.
• Migrate to or update AWS services.
• Perform regression testing and automate repetitive tasks.
• Work independently and in cooperation with other data engineers.
• Take ownership of code, development, and automation.
• Review code of other colleagues in an Infrastructure as Code environment.
