Datacenter Engineer (m/f/d)

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology or equivalent qualifications
• 5+ years experience in datacenter environments or enterprise infrastructure
• Familiarity with Azure networking and services including vNets and Gateways
• Experience with hybrid infrastructure design
• Solid knowledge in LAN/WAN architecture and Fortinet tools (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSASE)
• Experience with Cisco or HP Aruba is a plus
• Hands-on experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation
• Reliable and quality-focused with ability to prioritize and multitask
• German language proficiency B2 and confident in English documentation and vendor coordination
• Driver's license is a plus

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, storage systems, and network devices (routers, switches)
• Continuous monitoring of system performance and rapid troubleshooting of hardware/software issues
• Managing power distribution, cooling systems, and physical security
• Ensuring reliable network connectivity and implementing firewalls and encryption
• Supporting capacity planning, scalability, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives
• Maintaining documentation of configurations, processes, and disaster recovery plans ensuring compliance with standards like GDPR and ISO 27001
• Implementing and operating virtual and cloud platforms including Azure, OpenStack, Proxmox, Kubernetes
• Providing 2nd & 3rd level support for datacenter networks using FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiSASE
• Supporting backup, disaster recovery implementation, testing, and operational readiness
• Automating tasks and configuration management using Ansible, Terraform, Bash, or Python
• Performing fault analysis, root cause identification, vendor coordination, and hardware replacements
• Updating infrastructure diagrams, network designs, security policies, and access control logs
• Coordinating multiple parallel workstreams in infrastructure, rollout, and modernization projects
