Calypso Developer

A professional Calypso developer role offered by Vistulo, working remotely for a major North American bank. The job involves extending the Calypso platform which powers fixed income, foreign exchange, and derivatives trading, one of the largest Calypso deployments in the world. The position is available only to residents of Poland and Romania. The role offers long-term, fully remote employment with collaboration between North American and Polish teams.

• 5+ years hands-on Calypso development experience; V17+ strongly preferred.
• 5+ years Java development experience.
• Experience working with APIs, workflows, engines, events, reporting, scheduled tasks, and integration with external systems.
• Experience with the collateral management module.
• Strong SQL and database skills, preferably with Oracle.
• Strong DevOps experience including source control, build automation, deployment automation, and release management.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, Ansible, and JFrog Artifactory.
• Solid understanding of fixed income, FX, interest rate derivatives, and credit derivatives.
• Experience supporting high-volume trading environments in investment banking/capital markets.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and operate within structured projects.
• Comfort with ambiguity and proactively developing solutions, including leveraging AI tools.
• Strong communication skills for trader-facing environments.
• Ability to maintain 3–4 hour overlap with US Eastern business hours with flexibility during crunch periods.

• Build and maintain Calypso APIs, workflows, engines, events, reporting, and scheduled tasks using Java.
• Integrate Calypso with external systems using MQ, Kafka, and Webservice/HTTP.
• Write and optimize SQL, troubleshoot database issues, and work with Oracle-backed Calypso environments.
• Support Calypso applications in Linux/Unix environments, using shell scripting to automate development and operational tasks.
• Maintain and improve build, deployment, and release processes using GitHub, Azure DevOps, Ansible, and JFrog Artifactory.
• Work from requirements and tickets defined by business analysts, contribute experience and domain knowledge to shape solutions.
• Fix defects, participate in code reviews, and maintain code quality across the Calypso codebase.
• Support testing and validation of changes before production.
• Use AI tools to speed up development or testing work where applicable.

Only candidates residing in Poland or Romania (citizens or legal residents with work permission) are eligible. Requires maintaining a daily overlap of 3–4 hours with US Eastern business hours.
