Software Verification & Validation Engineer (QA) f/m

For over 10 years, they have developed advanced optical instruments for satellite missions and vision systems for industrial automation. Their team comprises over 100 experienced engineers, designers, optics specialists working in a modern laboratory and cleanroom facilities in Wrocław. Scanway S.A. specializes in optical processing chains that include data acquisition, processing, image analysis, and event prediction based on data.

• Experience in software QA, Verification & Validation, integration, or system testing.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into concrete, measurable test cases.
• Good knowledge of Python and testing frameworks like pytest.
• Practical knowledge of Linux.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD systems.
• Understanding of network communication, protocols, and binary data processing.
• Skills in diagnosing issues based on logs, telemetry, system behavior, and documentation.
• Ability to read C or C++ code and collaborate technically with programmers.
• Independence in organizing verification processes and maintaining test documentation.
• English language skills enabling work with technical documentation and communication with English-speaking contractors.
• Willingness to periodically work with hardware in the laboratory environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience with embedded systems, including Embedded Linux.
• Knowledge of industrial, scientific or space cameras and image acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with GigE Vision, GenICam, Camera Link, frame grabbers, or other camera interfaces.
• Knowledge of space system protocols, especially CCSDS, PUS, or CSP.
• Experience with Modbus, UART, SPI, Ethernet, or other hardware communication interfaces.
• Experience using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Experience with Docker and GitLab CI.
• Creating hardware mocks, simulators, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Knowledge of requirements management tools and traceability matrices.
• Familiarity with ECSS standards for software or product assurance.
• Experience in the space, aviation, industrial, medical, automotive sectors or other high-reliability systems.

• Manage software and system requirements including organization, versioning, completeness analysis, and traceability maintenance.
• Verify requirements for unambiguity, consistency, and testability.
• Define acceptance criteria and link requirements with software changes and test results.
• Prepare verification plans, test specifications, procedures, and reports.
• Design and automate tests using Python.
• Develop test tools, simulators, data generators, and diagnostic scripts.
• Conduct integration, system, regression, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Verify camera operations, data acquisition, telemetry, commands, file transfer, and communication protocols.
• Test system behavior under fault conditions, e.g., timeouts, communication loss, or incorrect data.
• Analyze results, report discrepancies, and cooperate with programmers and electronics engineers to determine issue causes.
• Develop CI/CD processes and automatic test execution.
• Manage releases including versioning, tagging, artifact preparation, changelogs, release notes, and known issue lists.
• Verify readiness of releases and completeness of documentation and test results.
