Senior DevOps Engineer - CHEF

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Chef (creating cookbooks and automation).
• Minimum 7 years of overall IT experience with at least 5 years in advanced Linux server administration (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in Linux environments.
• Scripting skills in at least one language: Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure as code tools: Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Experience working with AWS key services (EC2, S3, Security Groups, networking).
• Familiarity with GitLab and Grafana.
• Experience in enterprise environments with high availability requirements and thorough documentation.
• Very good English communication skills (spoken and written) for an international team.
• Excellent communication skills, proactivity, initiative, and high engagement.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and regular business trips to Baltic countries (2–3 days every 2–3 weeks).

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Chef Habitat or Chef Automate (advanced policy and compliance management).
• Experience building DevOps pipelines and CI/CD.
• Experience with on-premise infrastructure monitoring (Prometheus, Zabbix, Grafana).
• Experience supporting banking, financial, or other regulated industry systems.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based support models and structured incident/change management processes.
• Interest or experience in automating Windows infrastructure.

• Automate and standardize provisioning, system configuration, and software deployments using Chef.
• Stabilize critical infrastructure and ensure consistency in a complex Linux environment with high availability (HA) requirements.
• Create automation scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Manage key AWS services (EC2, S3, Security Groups, network architecture).
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem analysis in Linux environments.
• Maintain and develop CI/CD tools (GitLab) and monitoring solutions (Grafana).
• Produce and update technical documentation in an enterprise environment.
• Participate in on-call duties and occasional overtime.
• Regular business travel onsite in the Baltic countries (2–3 days every 2–3 weeks).
