Founding Engineer - Fintech

Our client is a fast-growing business formation and financial services platform designed to help international entrepreneurs achieve global business freedom by integrating company setup, residency visas, and corporate banking into one seamless digital experience. They provide services including tax compliance, bookkeeping, and real estate investment to clients across over 50 countries.

• 3–8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend or full-stack fundamentals.
• Proven track record of building production-grade APIs and distributed systems.
• Mastery of database design, data modeling, and asynchronous workflows (queues, events, retries, and idempotency).
• High degree of engineering judgment to balance building for scale and optimizing for speed.
• Exceptional ownership mentality and ability to independently figure out paths to completion.
• Highly hands-on with desire to write production code daily in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.

Nice to have:

• Direct experience in fintech, neobanking, or payments (ledgers, reconciliation, money movement).
• Background at high-growth fintech companies like Stripe, Adyen, Airwallex, Brex, or similar.
• Familiarity with regulatory nuances of KYC/KYB and international banking infrastructure.
• Experience building multi-currency or FX-heavy platforms.

• Architect and build core financial infrastructure including KYC/KYB workflows, ledger systems, and transaction state machines.
• Design and implement integrations with regulated banking partners, card issuers, and payment rails (ACH, Wires, FX).
• Develop provider-agnostic systems allowing integration with multiple financial partners without vendor lock-in.
• Build robust, secure APIs and data models that handle complex reconciliation and event processing.
• Manage full lifecycle of feature development from database schema design to production deployment and internal compliance tooling.
• Work directly with founders to translate product goals into scalable technical solutions and engineering standards.
