Staff Software Engineer, YouTube Ads Video Creatives

Google Ads powers the open internet with technology connecting people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. The team owns advertiser-facing video creation and enhancement tools on the Google Ads buyside, focusing on improving and building new flows for video asset creation and optimization, partnering with demand teams to deliver seamless user experiences. The role supports multiple advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel, and video advertising.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in modern web technologies, frontend frameworks, and distributed web applications.
• Experience with modern web languages and frameworks such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, React, Dart, or similar, and server-side RPC integration.
• Experience leading technical architecture, cross-functional projects, or mentoring engineers.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience building interfaces that incorporate AI/ML models, large language models (LLMs), or generative media workflows.

• Develop direct technical leadership and architecture.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
