Business Intelligence Technical Lead

Scalo is a company delivering software projects and supporting its partners in business development through IT services, including software creation, embedded systems, cloud solutions, data management, and dedicated project teams.

• Very good practical knowledge of Power BI, Power BI Service, and semantic models
• Good knowledge of DAX and data model/report optimization principles
• Experience in production deployment and maintenance of Power BI solutions, including security and access management
• Strong SQL skills and practical experience with dbt
• Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and design of shared KPIs and reusable data models
• Ability to appropriately divide business logic between data and reporting layers
• Experience independently designing and implementing BI solutions
• Practical knowledge of Git, code review, CI/CD, and development/test/deployment processes
• Experience using APIs and scripting tools like Python or PowerShell
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric technologies: Power BI, Semantic Models, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Direct Lake, Pipelines
• Experience with Airflow or similar data orchestration tools
• Knowledge of Liquibase or similar database change management tools
• Experience with AI-assisted development and development support tools
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its applications
• Ability to safely use AI agents for process automation
• Ability to create clear and useful Power BI reports and dashboards
• Knowledge of data visualization principles and analytical solution design
• Experience supporting other specialists and sharing technical knowledge
• Self-reliance, proactivity, and responsibility for solution quality
• Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, Data Engineering teams, and international teams
• English language proficiency enabling smooth communication in an international environment

• Experience automating Power BI deployments and using Power BI/Fabric APIs

• Realize analytical projects in the media, telecommunications, and subscription services industries
• Design and develop Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI, dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, and Microsoft Fabric
• Create and enhance semantic models, reports, and Power BI dashboards
• Build data models in dbt and Snowflake and implement business logic in appropriate data architecture layers
• Design end-to-end solutions covering data and reporting layers
• Optimize data models, SQL queries, and reports; provide production issue support
• Provide technical support to development teams on complex technical issues
• Conduct code and data model reviews
• Mentor specialists and develop BI standards and best practices
• Identify opportunities for simplifying, optimizing, and refactoring existing solutions
• Automate development, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes
• Utilize APIs, scripting (including Python and PowerShell), CI/CD, and AI tools supporting development services
• Collaborate with international and central Data/BI teams to create shared models, components, and standards
• Adapt global solutions to local business needs
• Participate actively in developing architecture centralizing business logic and KPIs in Snowflake/dbt, maintaining Power BI as semantic and reporting layer
• Work remotely in an international environment with teams across multiple countries
