QA Lead

intent has been designing and co-creating connected devices since 2008, including wearables, smart audio, and health-tech hardware for clients like Oura and BOSE. They have over 60 employees, operate fully remote, and emphasize advanced QA processes involving mobile apps interacting with firmware over BLE, sensor pipelines, and edge cases involving hardware conditions.

• 6+ years in software testing, ideally mobile and IoT
• 2+ years leading a QA team with real ownership of testing practices
• Hands-on experience with test case management tools (Qase, TestRail) and Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence)
• Solid manual AND automated testing experience: Cypress, Appium, Postman, Robot Framework
• Strong understanding of BLE, API testing, and cloud platforms (AWS, Firebase)
• English language proficiency at B2+ level, written and spoken
• Leadership mindset focused on growing people and ownership
• Initiative and clear communication

Nice to have:

• Hardware-in-the-loop test setups
• Experience scaling QA practices in software houses or product companies
• Working knowledge of MQTT, NFC, Wi-Fi, Thread, or similar IoT protocols
• ISTQB Advanced or higher certification
• Genuine curiosity about testing physical devices, not just software interfaces

• Plan, design, and execute comprehensive testing strategies for IoT and mobile products
• Lead and mentor the QA team: guide test design, review approaches, run knowledge-sharing
• Introduce modern QA tools and practices, including test automation and CI/CD integration
• Define and track quality metrics, and continuously improve testing efficiency
• Work directly with the CTO on QA direction across the company
• Collaborate with developers, PMs, and clients to define acceptance criteria and coverage
• Oversee the full range of testing: compatibility, functional, integration, E2E, automated, performance, security, regression
• Run quality work end to end: from raw BLE signal capture all the way to cloud data validation
• Use AI tools as part of your daily workflow
