Drools Consultant / Rule Engine Expert

The company Cyclad is hiring for a strategic 6-month initiative in the travel industry focused on implementing and optimizing rule-based decision systems.

• Deep practical expertise with Drools, Business Central, KIE Server / KIE Containers, Complex Event Processing (CEP)
• Strong Java development background, including Spring / Spring Boot and Hibernate
• Experience designing rule-based architectures within distributed systems
• Strong understanding of software architecture and integration patterns
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues proactively
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Experience working with development teams in Agile environments
• Very good English communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with OptaPlanner / Timefold
• Experience with constraint-solving engines
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles

• Support teams in designing and implementing enterprise-grade solutions based on the Drools ecosystem
• Analyze existing technical challenges and identify improvements related to performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Define best practices for rule architecture, coding standards, and rule lifecycle management
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and QA teams to ensure high-quality delivery
• Participate in code reviews, workshops, and technical knowledge-sharing sessions
• Design integrations between Drools components and modern microservices-based architectures
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies
• Contribute hands-on to implementation activities and optimization initiatives
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and implementation guidelines
