Java Developer

We are hiring on behalf of our client – a global financial services organization recognized for its premium service, deep domain expertise, and strong technology-driven approach. The company partners with clients, helping them solve complex challenges across investor services and capital markets.

Technical Expertise:

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or full-stack role.
• Strong commercial experience with Java, Spring, SQL, Hibernate, and Kafka.
• Proven contributions to system architecture and technical design.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and popular web application frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of enterprise integration patterns including queues, publish-subscribe messaging, and REST APIs.
• Experience designing or developing applications based on microservice architecture.
• Experience with automated testing, build automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Angular or another reactive frontend framework is an advantage.

Engineering Practices:

• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Ability to assess systems in terms of scalability, security, resilience, maintainability, and testability.
• Confidence troubleshooting complex issues across test and production environments.
• Ability to contribute constructively to code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering standards.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

Software Development:

• Develop and maintain application code for business-critical distributed systems.
• Build automated tests to improve software quality, stability, and maintainability.
• Analyse and resolve issues identified in testing and production environments.
• Conduct code reviews and provide actionable feedback to other engineers.

Architecture and Technical Excellence:

• Contribute to architecture, system design, and technology selection discussions.
• Evaluate function, scalability, testability, security, and resilience with testers and business users.
• Research technologies and recommend improvements to the department’s technology stack.
• Define and improve engineering standards, development practices, and technical documentation.

Automation and Delivery:

• Drive greater automation across development, testing, and deployment processes.
• Support the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure applications and engineering practices remain aligned with current industry standards.

Collaboration and Team Development:

• Communicate effectively with engineers, testers, business users, and stakeholders.
• Translate business and operational needs into practical technical solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
• Support recruitment and assessment of new engineering talent.
