Director of Platform Engineering

Kyriba is a global fintech leader empowering CFOs and finance teams with cloud-based treasury, payments, risk management, and working capital solutions. The company serves over 3,000 customers worldwide, managing $15 trillion in payments annually. The role is based in Warsaw with a hybrid work model and an employment contract (UoP).

• Bachelor of Science degree in IT, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven hands-on engineering experience in cloud-native or cloud-migrated platforms.
• Expert-level Kubernetes engineering experience including cluster architecture and operational reliability at scale.
• Strong hands-on experience with major public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Deep command of GitOps principles, Infrastructure as Code, and experience with tools such as Git, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline frameworks.
• Strong decision-making and technical communication skills.
• Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities and maintaining technical rigor and strategic focus.

Technical Leadership and Strategic Direction:

• Define and own the strategic technical direction of the base platform.
• Enforce engineering standards and quality gates across the infrastructure codebase.
• Lead design and implementation of core platform components including Kubernetes, network topology, storage, persistence layers, and middleware.
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and make evidence-based recommendations.
• Ensure platform resilience, observability, operability, and security by design.

Platform Reliability and Operational Excellence:

• Own reliability, performance, and security posture of the base platform end-to-end.
• Define and uphold SLOs and SLIs.
• Lead incident management and on-call culture.
• Ensure safe platform changes through robust CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and progressive rollout.
• Champion observability with logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.

Technical Communication and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Articulate technical strategy and engineering decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with peer engineering leaders and engage with Product and Program Management.
• Surface technical risks and propose well-reasoned solutions early.
