Application Developer, State Street Investment Management, Officer

State Street Investment Management, within the Chief Operating Officer (COO) organization, is seeking an Application Development Officer to join the Global Funds Management (GFM) Engineering team. The company operates in the financial services domain providing global investment management platforms and business-critical applications.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 2–3 years software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications using Java, Python, Spring Boot, and microservices
• Experience designing and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases
• Strong object-oriented design expertise including design patterns and SOLID principles

Nice to have:

• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot

• Act as a hands-on software engineer contributing to design, development, testing, and support activities
• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and SQL
• Build and maintain data-driven applications with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Redshift databases
• Collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional technology and business teams
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for business-critical functions
• Ensure quality delivery through unit testing, automation testing, and manual test execution
• Contribute to DevOps practices including automated CI/CD pipelines and environment setup
• Explore and apply AI-assisted engineering tools and frameworks
• Share knowledge and support continuous improvement and engineering excellence

The role follows a hybrid working model requiring three days per week onsite at the Krakow office.
