Computer Vision Software Developer Senior

Zebra Technologies is an innovative company developing smart solutions including fixed industrial smart cameras. The role is within the Core Smart Camera Software team working on cross-platform native codebases including an on-device runtime engine and a core machine-vision tools integration library.

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience.
• Expert proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20/23), multi-threading, multi-platform build systems (CMake), and dependency management tools (Conan or vcpkg).
• Strong understanding of software architecture, cross-platform development (Linux, Windows), IPC, and adoption of GenAI / Agentic AI tools in SDLC.
• Experience with software testing frameworks (GTest) and advanced debugging tools (e.g., gdb, valgrind, sanitizers).
• Ability to integrate new technologies such as machine vision libraries, native-to-scripting bridges (e.g., Node.js N-API), and networking/IPCs frameworks (e.g., DBus, ZeroMQ, Boost).
• Strong problem-solving skills in concurrent software optimization and multithreading portability.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git, GitHub) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, mentoring skills.
• Ability to work independently managing multiple priorities in a performance-sensitive environment.

• Establish requirements and prioritize features for cross-platform native software projects.
• Design and develop software turning core algorithms into high-performance tools using modern C++ (C++23).
• Lead and participate in code reviews adhering to strict quality standards (e.g., clang-tidy, SonarQube).
• Utilize and mentor others on agentic AI programming tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Optimize real-time image-processing pipelines and inter-process communication (IPC) on smart camera hardware.
• Develop tests and create comprehensive documentation.
• Provide technical problem-solving and recommendations across application architecture, hardware, and machine vision.
• Develop custom tools or scripts (e.g., CMake, Python) for cross-compilation, debugging, or automated testing.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Network with internal and external senior personnel in the technical domain.
