Team Leader Embedded Software Engineering

Ideamotive is hiring a Team Leader Embedded Software Engineering in Białystok, Poland, for a full-time, on-site position. The team focuses on embedded software for traction and auxiliary converters as well as battery chargers, specifically real-time embedded software for motor control applications.

• Higher education in control engineering, computer science, embedded systems, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in embedded software development for power electronics, motor control, or real-time systems.
• Experience leading teams or clear leadership potential in embedded/control engineering environments.
• Expert knowledge of C language in real-time embedded systems.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous motor control algorithms, power converter topologies, and embedded control platforms.
• Familiarity with communication interfaces (CAN, TRDP, SPI, I2C) and industrial communication principles.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with C++, C#, Python, or scripting tools (Bash, PowerShell).
• Work with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, simulation, or designing control algorithms.
• Knowledge of railway industry requirements, safety aspects, and systems engineering processes.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of German language.

Team:

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of embedded software engineers.
• Plan workload, allocate resources, and build the team's technology roadmap.
• Define and improve development processes based on the V-model and integrate them with other departments.

Technology:

• Responsible for architecture, implementation, and verification of real-time software for motor control including FOC, vector control, advanced torque and speed control strategies.
• Develop highly reliable firmware in C for TI C2000, ARM Cortex platforms.
• Oversee AC motor control algorithms including sensorless control and modulation strategies.
• Ensure solid implementation of communication protocols (CAN, TRDP, SPI, I2C), diagnostic software, and interfaces used in railway converters.
• Supervise software verification, Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, commissioning, and documentation throughout project stages.

Collaboration:

• Coordinate work with system engineers, test teams, commissioning teams, and vehicle integration groups.
• Ensure software architecture compliance with railway standards, safety requirements, real-time constraints, and accepted processes.
• Represent the team as an expert in client projects, design reviews, audits, and technical discussions.
