Senior AI/ML Engineer with Databricks

Long-term initiative for an international client from the insurance sector focused on intelligent document processing and AI-driven automation solutions using the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

• Strong experience in Data Engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Very good knowledge of Azure Cloud services.
• Experience working with Azure Data Lake.
• Strong SQL skills including SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
• Experience in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Data Mining, and DataOps.
• Exposure to Machine Learning projects.
• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an international environment.
• Experience with OCR, Intelligent Document Processing, or Azure AI Document Intelligence.
• Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and text analytics.
• Experience with multilingual document processing solutions.

• Design and develop data processing solutions in the Azure ecosystem.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse.
• Develop OCR-based solutions for automated document processing.
• Integrate extracted data with enterprise applications and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to DataOps best practices.
• Support the implementation of AI and Machine Learning initiatives.
• Potential initiatives include OCR automation for cash register reports, intelligent data extraction from receipts and invoices, document data extraction and integration, digitization and automation of paper-based customer surveys, OCR combined with text analytics and sentiment analysis, processing multilingual documents, and supporting new AI-driven automation projects.
