Tech QA Lead

CD PROJEKT RED is creating revolutionary, story-driven RPGs. The position is on the Polaris project, specifically on The Witcher 4.

• 5+ years leading or managing Tech QA teams.
• 5+ years experience with performance management and career development.
• 5+ years experience in game development.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, coverage, technical QA practices, and quality reporting.
• Experience with Unreal Engine or in-house engine and editor tools.
• Strong understanding of game development lifecycles and testing strategies covering integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical features.
• Experience with QA metrics, KPIs, bug trends.
• Experience with performance analysis, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
• Experience with Unreal Insights, engine profiling, crash debugging.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for presenting technical quality status and risks.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, test plans, reports, dashboards, and quality summaries.
• Experience improving QA workflows, reporting models, dashboards, technical metrics, and test management processes.
• Experience working with external QA vendors, distributed or cross-location teams.
• Strong ownership, accountability, emotional maturity, and ability to work under pressure and changing priorities.
• Alignment with RED values and acting as a role model in communication, decision-making, collaboration, and leadership.

Nice to have:

• Experience working on AAA titles.
• Experience with programming or scripting in C++, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience with automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, CI/CD pipelines, or technical validation workflows.
• Interest in The Witcher universe and passion for delivering high-quality player experiences in large-scale RPGs.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Tech QA team, fostering accountability and continuous skill growth.
• Adapt and implement the Polaris QA strategy into practical testing approaches and measurable outcomes.
• Own testing execution and milestone verification to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
• Monitor technical quality metrics, KPIs, and bug trends to identify and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with development, production, and external QA vendors to coordinate dependencies and technical requests.
• Maintain clear, data-informed reporting on quality status, blockers, and project readiness.
• Drive continuous improvements in QA workflows, tools, testing frameworks, documentation, and team effectiveness.
• Provide hands-on technical support for complex investigations, issue analysis, and debugging when required.

Office-First working mode: primarily Warsaw studio in full time or hybrid mode with minimum 3 days at the office. Relocation required.
