QA Lead

To create revolutionary, story-driven RPGs which go straight to the hearts of gamers, CD PROJEKT RED develops their games with a strong focus on deep narrative. The role is part of the Hadar project within the company.

• 5+ years experience leading and managing QA teams preferably in AAA environments.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, coverage, QA practices, and quality reporting.
• Experience with game engines and editors, especially Unreal Engine.
• Strong understanding of game development lifecycles and testing strategies covering integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical feature validation.
• Experience with performance analysis, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with external QA vendors, distributed QA teams, or cross-location development teams.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to work effectively under pressure and changing priorities.

Nice to have:

• Experience with User Experience Research (UXR), focus groups, usability testing, and gathering player feedback.
• Experience with automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, CI/CD pipelines, or technical validation workflows.

• Build and shape a high-performing QA team through recruitment, onboarding, team structure, and skill development.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team, fostering accountability and role clarity.
• Adapt and implement the QA strategy into practical testing approaches and measurable outcomes.
• Own testing execution and milestone verification to meet gameplay quality standards.
• Monitor quality metrics and bug trends to identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Partner with development, production, and external QA vendors for coordination and alignment.
• Participate in hands-on testing including exploratory, feature, and regression testing.
• Maintain clear, data-informed reporting on quality status, blockers, and project readiness.
• Drive continuous improvements in QA workflows, tools, testing frameworks, documentation, and team effectiveness.
• Assist with complex investigations, issue analysis, and debugging workflows when needed.
