Leap Tools Inc. builds advanced solutions for the interior décor industry, serving customers in over 80 countries including Fortune 500 companies. They are modernizing and integrating an acquired ERP solution for the flooring industry, called QFloors, transitioning it from a legacy desktop system to a modern web stack.

• 8+ years of software development experience with scalable, reliable systems in production.
• Proven leadership in multi-team migrations or re-platforming of live systems.
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, networking, and databases.
• Strong data modeling and relational database design skills for multi-tenant systems and safe migrations.
• Ability to design distributed services focusing on performance, observability, and fault tolerance.
• Strong architectural instincts to make impactful technical decisions across teams and codebases.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers, guiding teams through ambiguity, and improving engineering practices.
• Exceptional ownership mindset with initiative and impact delivery.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-autonomy, product-driven environments.

Preferred, not required:

• Experience with ERP, accounting, business management software, e-commerce, or catalog management.
• Experience building and maintaining Windows desktop applications, especially in C++ or similar native technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure for production applications; familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Experience with Python and Django on backend or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Windows application development and Azure infrastructure involved in the desktop product.
• Strong preference for familiarity with the existing technology stack or analogous systems and willingness to learn.

• Own the technical direction of the QFloors-to-ERP migration, including domain sequencing, data modeling, cutover strategies, and ensuring coexistence of desktop and web ERP.
• Anticipate team needs and break work down to facilitate productivity and foundational investments.
• Drive major projects to completion, balancing hands-on coding and delegation.
• Lead design discussions across diverse technologies including Windows desktop applications, Azure, Django, and Next.js.
• Evaluate and guide technology decisions balancing quality risks and team expertise.
• Set and uphold code review standards, spot patterns for automation, and delegate responsibilities.
• Mentor engineers to expand their competencies, especially transitioning desktop engineers to web.
• Ensure platform scalability, observability, and cost efficiency, especially regarding Azure dependencies.
• Collaborate with engineering manager, product, and CTO on the roadmap with proactive proposals.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding by evaluating technical candidate depth.
• Lead design, architecture, and delivery of complex backend systems for 3D and computer vision at scale.
• Develop mission-critical APIs, data pipelines, and services supporting global high-traffic applications.
• Guide technical direction, foundational investments, and scalability planning in partnership with leadership.
• Mentor senior engineers, conduct architecture reviews, and enable high-quality development.
• Champion engineering excellence focusing on scalability, resiliency, observability, and maintainability.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Shape the long-term technical vision and engineering culture.
• Influence hiring, onboarding, and growth strategies for team strength and health over time.
