Backend Engineer

You will be involved in a large-scale, cloud-based software project for one of Poland’s leading organizations in logistics and e-commerce. As a Backend Engineer, you will work in an international engineering team focused on building highly scalable and highly available applications for millions of users. This is an opportunity to join a well-established and rapidly growing Polish business and contribute to a new fintech initiative from its early stages.

• 3+ years of commercial experience as a Backend Engineer
• Strong experience with Python and Node.js
• Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Kafka
• Good understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous communication
• Experience with React and/or Next.js
• Good communication skills in English (minimum B2 level)
• Understanding of authorization flows, ledger, and settlement processes
• Experience with agile development methodologies

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of software security and compliance requirements, including PCI DSS and PSD2
• Familiarity with KYC/KYB processes
• Experience working in international and cross-functional engineering teams

• Work as a Backend Engineer in an international engineering team
• Build highly scalable and highly available cloud-based applications
• Develop solutions for a new fintech initiative
• Collaborate with experts from different teams and areas

Preferred locations: Kraków, Warsaw, and Tricity. Hybrid work requiring office visits once a month; candidates near offices encouraged to visit weekly.
