IT Automation Tester (Java)

Senior Test Automation Engineer role for a client in the banking industry focused on Master Data Management solutions. The position supports development and maintenance of automated tests with emphasis on SOAP and REST API testing, database testing, integration testing, and automation of backend/data distribution processes.

• 6+ years of experience in automated software testing in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodology including test planning, design, execution, defect management, and regression testing.
• Hands-on experience in test automation development using Java 17+, Clean Code principles, and POJO design patterns.
• Practical experience with RESTAssured, JUnit 5, and Lombok for Java API testing.
• Solid understanding of REST architecture and SOAP/WSDL contracts.
• Good experience in API testing for REST and SOAP, integration flows, backend services, and data pipelines.
• Experience with test reporting tools like Allure.
• Proficiency in SQL for database testing.
• Experience testing integration solutions including Kafka-based asynchronous flows.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as qTest and Jira.
• Strong Git skills including branching strategies and pull request workflows.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or Bamboo.
• Knowledge of Selenium and Playwright UI testing is a plus.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies including Scrum ceremonies.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to work proactively in cross-functional teams and support automation-first mindset.

• Design and implement automated tests for APIs, integration processes, and data flows.
• Develop and maintain existing test automation frameworks.
• Create regression tests and integrate them with CI/CD processes.
• Support the implementation of the “Automation First” approach.
• Cooperate with developers, analysts, Product Owners, and other teams.
• Support automation of new features and existing products.
• Analyse test results and prepare test evidence.
• Use AI and GitHub Copilot to improve test automation efficiency.
• Mentor less experienced team members in test automation practices.
