Senior / Lead UX/UI Designer

EPAM Design Studio in Poland is hiring for a role working on an AI-native product built end-to-end for a global financial-services client. The role involves partnering with the client's design team and multidisciplinary delivery team to shape a platform focused on clear, transparent, and human-centered complex decision-making. EPAM is a global leader in AI transformation engineering and integrated consulting, serving Forbes Global 2000 companies and startups with expertise in custom software and platform engineering.

• 5+ years in UX/UI or product design at senior or lead level with a portfolio demonstrating complex product work and design-system contributions
• Proven experience building and scaling design systems in Figma including variables, tokens, component architecture, documentation, and governance
• Solid understanding of design system management in repositories (tokens, components, versioning) with hands-on Storybook experience
• Hands-on experience connecting AI / LLMs to Figma (API, MCP, plugins) and to codebase, building routers, prompts, or Markdown-based guidance to maintain AI consistency with the design system
• Strong command of design principles, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2), and web coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, component-based frameworks) to collaborate with engineers
• Clear, evidence-based perspective on AI's role in design and essential human intervention
• Experience working with development teams across SDLC, ideally AI-native SDLC
• Comfortable working in cross-functional, distributed teams including US-based colleagues
• Self-steering ability to own workstreams and deliver under ambiguity and fast-paced conditions
• Expert-level written and spoken English to articulate complex ideas and design rationale

Nice to have:

• Financial-services domain knowledge in investment, wealth management, or fintech
• Experience with design-token pipelines (e.g., Tokens Studio, Style Dictionary)
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code) or prototyping in code
• Client-facing consulting experience

Product UX/UI Design:

• Design and refine end-to-end experiences from concept to production-ready UI as part of a global design team

Design System Ownership:

• Build, evolve, and govern a design system in Figma (tokens, components, variants, documentation) aligned with its coded counterpart in the repository and Storybook

Figma-to-Code Bridge:

• Connect Figma and the repository using AI and LLMs (Figma API / MCP, Code Connect, custom tooling) to ensure design decisions flow reliably into code

AI Guidance Architecture:

• Structure AI context inside the repository (Markdown-based guidance files, routing, linkage) to ensure AI output follows design principles, standards, accessibility (WCAG), and front-end conventions

Human-in-the-Loop Judgment:

• Define quality gates and balance between AI automation and human review

AI-Native Delivery:

• Work within an AI-native SDLC alongside engineers, product owners, and QA, contributing to agile ceremonies and shared definitions of done

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Present design rationale, gather feedback, and iterate quickly

Prototyping & Validation:

• Prototype flows and interactions to test ideas with users and stakeholders

Team Knowledge Sharing:

• Share learnings and improve AI-enabled design workflows
