Data Engineering Tech Lead - Freelance (Part-time)

• Strong technical skills in data engineering with proficiency in Python, SQL, and Scala.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud platform and services.

• Expertise in ETL frameworks, data pipelines, and data warehousing solutions.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of data engineers.
• In-depth knowledge of data management principles, including data governance, data quality, and data integration.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results on deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for complex data engineering issues.
• Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations and ensuring compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior management.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• Provide leadership and guidance to the data engineering team, including mentoring and managing resources.
• Support team members with troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
• Provide technical direction in data engineering, including tool and methodology selection.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and define scope.
• Support project managers in ensuring projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Act as a trusted advisor for the customer.
• Oversee the design and architecture of data solutions, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Align coding standards and conduct code reviews for code quality.
• Identify and introduce quality assurance processes for data pipelines and workflows.
• Optimize data processing and storage for performance, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve data engineering processes, including CICD and quality assurance.
• Act as main point of contact to other teams engaged in the project.
• Maintain and regularly review technical project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data.

Open-ended freelance agreement requiring an active sole proprietorship (B2B). Part-time engagement up to 50% workload with flexible scheduling and no obligation to accept all projects.
