Sr.Director, Platform Engineering

• Proven leadership experience in Platform, Distributed Systems, or AI Engineering organizations for large-scale enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Deep expertise in event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka), API design, workflow engines, distributed databases, and high-throughput data processing.
• Hands-on experience modernizing legacy monoliths into cloud-native microservices and shared capabilities.
• Product mindset to manage internal developer tools balancing technical debt and feature delivery.
• Understanding of AI/ML infrastructure, agentic workflows, LLM orchestration platforms, and vector data storage.
• Over 10 years of progressive engineering leadership with at least 5 years managing multi-squad international platform organizations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Strategic SaaS Modernization & Architecture Roadmap:

• Decouple legacy monoliths into domain-driven microservices with strict API boundaries, containerized with Kubernetes and service mesh technologies.
• Transition workflows to real-time event streaming using Apache Kafka and event-driven microservices.
• Build infrastructure for integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI workflows, and vector stores.
• Develop internal developer platform (IDP) and self-service tooling for cloud resource provisioning, microservice templates, observability dashboards, and deployment pipeline management.

Expected Outcomes:

• Define and execute a unified, multi-year platform strategy and roadmap.
• Architect resilient shared foundation components including AI orchestration, event-streaming pipelines, workflow engines, and distributed data replication.
• Structure and scale autonomous, product-minded engineering squads with clear domain ownership.
• Enforce consistent API contracts, event formats, SLOs, and developer portals.
• Ensure enterprise-grade governance, security, auditability, and access control.
• Drive reliability, scalability, performance optimization, fault tolerance, and multi-region resilience.
• Mentor Engineering Managers, Staff/Principal Engineers, and technical leads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Treat platform features as internal products with customer feedback loops.
• Oversee end-to-end design, implementation, and lifecycle management of platform microservices, shared UI libraries, and data access layers.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Cloud teams to align with cloud-native best practices.
• Establish incident management, observability, continuous deployment pipelines, and capacity planning.
• Partner with Product Management, InfoSec, Cloud Operations, and Customer Success to align technical milestones with business objectives and customer SLAs.
