Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

Momentum is a Wrocław-based team building software for healthcare companies worldwide. They have experience helping HealthTech startups and scaleups create compliant, production-ready products. They are also developing their own products in wearables and medical data integration, including open source work. The company works with an AI-first approach, integrating AI tools into development and delivery processes.

• Over 5 years of commercial experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, and basic knowledge of NoSQL, caching, and message brokers
• Familiarity with client communications using REST API, WebSockets, and authentication mechanisms like JWT, cookies, OAuth
• Experience with CI/CD, deployment tools, Docker, and Git
• Knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principles
• Experience with automated tests using RSpec or similar frameworks
• Ability to contribute to architecture regarding business, functional, non-functional requirements, and scalability
• Daily use of AI tools and ability to review AI-generated code
• Experience in code review both giving and receiving feedback
• Fluent in English for client communication and fluent in Polish for internal communication
• Interest in HealthTech with focus on quality, security, and compliance

Nice to have:

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks: Vue or React
• Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Experience with web servers like Nginx
• Familiarity with HealthTech/pharmacy standards: HIPAA, e-prescribing, insurance, FHIR
• Experience embedded with clients, consulting, full delivery engagement, or startup multitasking

• Design and build web applications in Ruby on Rails, including relational database design
• Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write automated tests covering edge cases and overall reliability
• Fix bugs and improve performance
• Review code to maintain standards and ensure correctness, whether written by humans or AI
• Help define and improve internal standards for maintainability and style
• Communicate directly with the client to clarify requirements, discuss technical solutions, and present work
• Test new tools and workflows and share successful practices with the team
