Staff Software Engineer, Devops - Fintech Platform (m/f/n)

InPost Pay is building its own fintech platform from the ground up. It is a large-scale, international initiative with a lean, highly effective engineering organization in Poland. The company focuses on AI-native engineering and building complex systems and engineering tooling for fintech at scale.

• 8+ years in software or platform engineering with 2+ years in cross-team technical leadership or architecture authority
• 3+ years building infrastructure for distributed payments or fintech systems
• Deep expertise in container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), CI/CD pipeline design, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)
• Experience with cloud architecture evaluation and operation in AWS, GCP, or Azure at organisation scale
• Knowledge of observability and SRE practices: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and SLO design
• Expertise in security and compliance architecture including secrets management, network security, and PCI DSS / PSD2 relevant controls
• Experience designing or evolving infrastructure layer of an agentic engineering harness including sandboxing, tool-execution environments, and guardrails
• Database and message-broker operational trade-off reasoning at scale
• Excellent technical writing skills for ADRs, RFCs, and design docs
• English proficiency at B2 or above
• University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Nice to have:

• 2+ years in platform or internal developer tooling engineering
• 1+ years of agentic/LLM system design experience
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming architecture at scale
• Service-mesh architecture experience
• FinOps / cloud cost optimisation experience
• Chaos engineering or resilience testing experience
• Open-source contributions or technical publishing
• Polish language skills

• Define and maintain infrastructure architecture including cloud topology, networking, environment strategy, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code across multiple teams
• Author Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and RFCs for infrastructure and platform decisions with clear trade-off analysis
• Evaluate and decide on infrastructure trade-offs including cloud services, container orchestration, message broker topology, observability stack, and cost optimisation
• Own evolution of the agentic engineering harness infrastructure layer covering CI/CD integration, sandboxing, tool-execution environments, and guardrails
• Drive organisation-wide technical change defining golden paths and paved roads for deployment and operations without direct authority
• Mentor engineers on reliability, security, and operational excellence through design reviews and pairing
