[MSO] Senior Infrastructure/Platform Engineer (VMware & NetApp)

The team includes a Dutch engineering group delivering private cloud services to government and regulated-market clients in the Netherlands.

• 10+ years in IT infrastructure support and projects
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere / ESXi) in production, including upgrades and lifecycle management
• Hands-on experience with NetApp ONTAP in production
• Ability to troubleshoot across compute, storage, and network layers
• Experience with SAN and Fibre Channel
• Linux and Windows system administration
• Backup and restore experience in production environments
• Scripting for automation using PowerShell or Python
• Experience with ticketing and change management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Willingness to participate in stand-by rota and travel to the Netherlands
• English language proficiency at C1 level

Nice to have:

• Experience or willingness to learn OpenStack or Proxmox
• Experience with VMware vSAN or Site Recovery Manager
• Familiarity with backup tools like Veeam
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Ansible, Terraform)
• Certifications such as VMware VCP or NetApp NCDA
• Any level of Dutch language

• Administer, maintain and troubleshoot the VMware (vSphere / ESXi) environment including vCenter, clusters, HA/DRS, and vMotion
• Manage and maintain NetApp storage including ONTAP administration, volume and LUN provisioning, NFS/iSCSI/CIFS, replication, and snapshots
• Run larger infrastructure projects and resolve complex technical problems independently
• Handle day-to-day operational work: incidents, changes, and service requests
• Own capacity, performance, and lifecycle management of virtualization and storage platforms, including patching and firmware upgrades
• Run backup and restore operations, verifying recovery functionality
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and runbooks
• Participate in on-call stand-by rota
• Work directly with the client’s engineers in the Netherlands, including knowledge sharing
