Magento Tech Lead / Architect

Strix is involved in developing complex e-commerce solutions with high traffic and extensive integrations. The company works on composable commerce / MACH architectures, implementing Magento 2, Headless, Hyvä, and Ergonode PIM.

• Experience leading development teams or acting as a Tech Lead / Architect
• Practical experience designing and implementing complex Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce e-commerce solutions, including application, integrations, and data architectures
• Proven experience on high-traffic e-commerce projects or complex integration architectures
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and architectural decisions effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Minimum 5 years commercial experience with Magento 2 and writing clean code in PHP 8
• Deep knowledge of Magento 2 architecture including dependency injection, plugins, observers, service contracts, EAV, indexers, cron, and message queues
• Over 4 years experience with MySQL and Elasticsearch / OpenSearch including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance diagnostics
• Extensive integration experience with external systems (ERP, PIM such as Ergonode, WMS, OMS, payments) via REST API and GraphQL
• Familiarity with Headless architecture and basic working knowledge of Hyvä, especially checkout and cart customization
• Practical knowledge of asynchronous messaging and queues (RabbitMQ)
• Skills in diagnosing application performance issues, using profilers, monitoring tools, log analysis, and cache mechanisms (Varnish, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch)
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles and experience writing unit and integration tests (PHPUnit), and conducting code reviews
• Knowledge of web application security best practices (OWASP Top 10) and compliance requirements (GDPR, PCI DSS)
• Comfortable using Git (rebase, conflict resolution), Docker (DDEV, Warden), and basic Linux administration
• English language proficiency sufficient for technical documentation and communication

• Mentoring backend team members, conducting code reviews, fostering developer independence, and providing constructive feedback
• Designing technical architecture of projects including applications, integrations, and data flows with attention to performance, scalability, security, and costs
• Translating business requirements into technical solutions via analysis and technical workshops with clients
• Estimating complex Magento 2 projects, planning deployments and migrations, and managing technical execution from analysis to production ensuring quality, performance, and security
• Developing core e-commerce logic including dedicated applications, microservices, and advanced modules (promotions, pricing engines, checkout, orders, catalog)
• Designing efficient APIs (REST, GraphQL) and integrations with ERP, PIM, WMS, OMS, and payment systems, including interface definitions with external vendors
• Overseeing coding standards and quality including SOLID principles, unit and integration testing, and security practices
• Comparing technical solution options, justifying choices, documenting architecture and key flows, and communicating decisions clearly to the team and non-technical client stakeholders
• Participating in recruitment including technical evaluation of candidates and onboarding new developers
