Senior IBM i (AS/400) Storage Replication & High Availability Engineer

This role is for a client in the banking industry focused on safeguarding and optimizing their core banking system with high-availability solutions on IBM i platforms.

• 7+ years of experience in IBM i (AS/400) systems administration and replication projects.
• Hands-on experience with storage-based replication technologies such as IASP, PowerHA SystemMirror for i, Metro Mirror, and Global Mirror.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with Precisely MIMIX or Maxava replication tools.
• Experience in high availability/disaster recovery design and failover processes in regulated banking environments.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with IBM Power hardware and IBM Storage solutions (FlashSystem, DS8000).
• Scripting/tooling skills for replication health checks and alerting (CL, SQL services).
• Prior work with European banks using AS/400 cores.
• Relevant IBM i or PowerHA certifications.

• Implement storage-based replication solutions between two IBM i sites according to design specifications.
• Configure and test SAN and fiber link setups, including synchronization, cutover, and failover procedures.
• Manage migration from MIMIX replication ensuring data consistency and minimal disruption.
• Develop and deploy monitoring and alert systems for real-time replication issue detection.
• Provide expert advice and assist in implementing active-active configurations or higher availability architectures.
• Create runbooks for switchover, failback, and troubleshooting replication failures.
• Coordinate with Safra's change management for compliance when modifying core banking systems.
